Introduction

Sex in the media is a serious topic. Media uses sex as a source of gaining revenues and for successful publicity. Sex is an appealing factor for people and they feel pleasure in watching sexual content. People feel that it is an enjoyable practice and necessary for life and, thus get addicted to it. Sex is an excellent tool for grabbing the attention of people. In this paper, there is a discussion about that sex in the media allowed or not? And does government allows media to show such sexual content? Paper also discusses the harmful effects of pornography on people and children especially.

Q1. Should there be Sex in the Media?

Question arises here that, should there be sex in media or not? It is a very debatable topic because the majority of our population perceived sex as a source of pleasure and relaxation and the same thing they demand in movies, TV shows and programs. Sex appealing is not such a dishonorable thing, but too much usage of sexual content in the media cause negative impact on the lives of human beings (Donnerstein & Linz, p. 601). They become so much addicted to it that they start finding same activities in their daily life. Media should use sex factor with some rule and priorities because too much sexual involvement in media is leading people's behavior towards violence. It leads the way towards different other social problems like child harassment, rape, sexual violence and sexual diseases are also increasing. So, there should be some limitations in media, like in the day time shows and movies such things should not be there. During children shows timings such advertising should not be broadcasted (Galician, p. 25).

Sexual content in media is a serious concern for the whole nation because on the media they only show the sexual behaviors or romantic activities but, they do not tell about the serious and alarming results of it. Sexual diseases are increasing, and premature sexual activities are also increasing just due to exposure of sex in media. People follow the celebrities and treat them as a role model, and when these people portray such image regarding sex so, people adapt it, which leads to a negative culture in society (Hughes, p. 2). Although, there are rules and regulations and most of the sexual stuff is only for adults, but the involvement of sex should not be so much in the media because it will increase the problems in society regarding social life and relationship in families (Galician, p. 40).

It is true that, everyone is responsible for his own acts and media is not responsible for millions of people's activity. But, there must be some fixed parameters that sex and pornography should be allowed within some limits. Unlawful movies and shows which cause sexual addiction must be banned or shown under strict rules and available only to adults.
