Introduction

In higher education the self management learning is escalating in a significant manner and the students are adapting this technique for their immediate studies as well as the preparations made for long life learning but at the same time because of changing nature of compulsory education to contemporary life styles the students are facing difficulties to meet the demands of self management this is due to the lack of a reliable approach among the academic staff and the absence of means through which they can support student's learning .Hence the gap between the demand of self managed learning and the student's competence and access to academic support has widen up( Laurillard, 2001,p3-7).

In the self management approach an agreement is set between the learner and the trainer and it consist of certain principal

Learners

The learners are accountable for evaluation of their own learning needs and have a full right on how they meet their learning requirements within the limited resources available. They can also change their learning need over time( Mossman, Stewart,1987,p.3).

Advisers

The responsibility of the advisor is to assist the learners to make them realize their responsibilities for their own learning and provide access them access of the available resources( Mossman, Stewart,1987,p.3).

Research Work

Effective learning can be done by carrying out research work assigned by universities and colleges or even at work stations Research works help students to enhance their browsing skills and also boost their knowledge about what is going on currently in the business environment.

Conferences and seminars

The Conferences and Seminars play a vital role in the self learning process. They provide students opportunity to present their knowledge and understandings about a topic in front of other people who can also gain knowledge from it. The conferences and seminars also help in building the confidence of a student to stand and speak in front of large audience and they help in developing the presentation skills of a student which are required in any organization.

Social Networks

Facebook ,twitter ,My yearbook are all different social sites through which people can interact with different people and communities and learn about their cultures .The social networks provide information on numerous topics which can be beneficial to students and they are a more interesting way of browsing information.

Internet

The internet has provided a ocean of information to people. There are variety of websites that can be helpful for a person to get information on any topic he wishes .There are articles, newspapers research papers, thesis reports, videos on different topics that can improve the learning of a person.
