Introduction

The UK Law authorities rely on a comprehensive and objective set of legal guidelines to ensure that the adequate level of civilian safety and social order is maintained. In this regard the various regulatory stakeholders have to ensure that they perform their duties within the confines of the UK legal system. It is the main task of the relevant police authorities to ensure that the public safety measures are implemented, and any threat is averted by taking appropriate actions. Hence the police authorities have the right to investigate the relevant socio environmental factors, and then take strategic actions so as to ensure that no illegal activity takes place (Loughlin, 1992, pp. 17). However the relevant regulatory authorities also have to realize that the investigated individuals also have legal rights provided by the UK legal system, and they have to be treated through a just and unbiased system.

In order to alleviate the dilemma of biased and unjust police procedures, it is important that the relevant regulatory agents implement an objective procedure for investigating and treating the suspects. It is the right of the police officers to ensure that the suspicious characters in their jurisdictions are investigated adequately; however they cannot seek to apprehend the suspect and treat him like a criminal only on the basis of circumstantial factors. The regulatory authorities are not provided the right to misuse their authority and coerce the suspects in committing their crimes. This process will be highly undemocratic and biased in nature and would cause the police authorities to become inefficient and unjust in nature. The relevant police officers have to ensure that they function within the legal confines of the UK Public law, and implement an objective and unbiased investigating procedure.
