Executive Summary
The purpose of this report was to discuss the achievement of world-class levels of people performance, leadership especially through the strategies and processes linked to High Performance Working. In first section leadership, along with its theories and styles was discussed. Leadership is the set of capabilities that an individual has to influence the minds of people or a group of determined people, making this team work with enthusiasm, achievement of goals and objectives. Leaders are agents of change whose acts affect other people more than other people's acts affect them; they are not dictators who force others to do what they themselves want done. Change is an inevitable part of any business. Successful change management is a key to success of any business. Over the years, companies have put their best efforts to manage change in the organization. Further, putting together the novel and proven practices demonstrates how, just as the companies mentioned here have benefited from adopting forward-looking HR practices, HR has and can improve organizational performance in guidance of an effective leader. HR needs to be confident in its ability to improve performance by using evidence-based HR practices to push the limits of what seems possible. But before addressing how HR can improve corporate performance today, it is worth remembering where HR has been and how it has improved organizational functioning in the past century. Effective leadership, change management and people management are critical for high performance working.
