Introduction

The Greeks have exported their ideas. Rome has inherited. Roman religion was polytheistic cult. Its nucleus was probably elements of the Indo-European beliefs, including cult of the sky, with its extreme weather events, and the cult of fire. The main feature of the original religion of the Romans was the belief in an impersonal divinity, but rather in the power manifested in any phenomenon (e.g., in the glare of lightning, sprouting seeds, good or bad condition of cattle).
