Introduction

The aim of this essay is to discuss the role of research for the field of education and especially in TESOL education profession. When we talk about educational research we mean the generation of scientific knowledge relating to a social event i.e. 'Education'. Educational research is distinguished by the epistemological complexity of its subject but not for the existence of specific ways to investigate. Educational research in inventories receives marginal treatment contrasts with the growing importance of the sector and educational policies for development.

In a developing country, education is considered as the key factor in the evolution of man and society. With this new approach, educational research is urgently needed. The focus of education as essential in promoting social and economic development is considered justified to educational research as a determining variable for the development of new educational systems, adapted to current realities and future socio-economic needs of the nation. Similarly, educational technology is not limited to teaching, but is now more of a media set, models, and procedures (Edge, 1998).

I believe that school environment has a significant influence not only on the academic development of the students, but also their personalities and social skills. The students have to spend most of their time in the schools, and after their households, this institution has the greatest impact on their personal and social lives. Most of their social skills are developed by the interaction with the rest of the students and the teaching faculty. There is a huge role of educational research in TESOL. In this education field, the technical and specific knowledge is important, rather than the language that is used to give the tests. With an objective perspective the school authorities must seek to aid the ESL students, so that the transfer of knowledge is implemented with an unbiased and fair intent.

For psychology, the establishment of education as a field of research has consideration involved not only as an object of knowledge, but its theoretical development in areas such as cognition, learning assessment, the behaviours, and socio-emotional behaviours. Research priorities should emerge from the global planning of activities in the field of education. Such planning should include specific studies that contribute to the advancement of science education, the education system, and the development of the country. According to the most urgent needs and requirements of each area, research priorities should be consistent with the educational sciences that are interested in developing (Amin, 1997).

Discussion and Analysis

Research in education field is a specific social practice that seeks the production of scientific knowledge. It investigates means to respond to problems of knowledge. In education, as in other sciences, research has become a precise activity and elemental.
