Introduction

Forensic psychology is the application of science and profession of psychology to questions and issues related to law and legal system. The word "forensic" comes from the Latin word "Forensis," meaning "of the forum," which the courts of ancient Rome were held. Now justice refers to the application of scientific principles and practices of the adversarial process in which special knowledge of the scientists play a role.

There are several types of forensic psychologists, although most fall into three different categories, criminal investigations, courtroom experts, and / or psychiatrists' correction. I decided to focus on the criminal aspect, because it interests me most.

Forensic psychologist can play a number of key roles in a criminal investigation. Immediately after a crime, a forensic psychologist may be asked to act as a criminal profiler. Criminal psychologist profiling involves using their understanding of human behavior, motivation, and pathology of creating a psychological profile of a sinner. Profiles can be surprisingly accurate.
