Introduction

Nursing is a very tough and organized professional these days. Nurses require understanding the how to effectively deal with the patient in difficult times. It also requires proper training to understand how they can manage all the issues keeping in view all other people surrounding Nurses like Doctors, Patient's parent, Hospital administration. They must know how to effectively deal with these issues. In order analyze the role of Nursing and the issues they face, we conducted interviews of 4 Nurses. Two out of which were Nurse practitioners, while the other two were involved in full time Research with in a clinical setting. We will follow the discussion according to the question asked from these Nurses.

Discussion

1. Discuss how you utilize and value the knowledge of other disciplines to solve patient care problems. What team members are you most often engaged with, and what is the unique expertise of each?

Nursing has now become a very broad subject. It does not only require understanding medical issues, but a lot of other aspects too in order to become a successful Nursing professional. Subjects like Management and Psychology help a great deal to understand the nature of job and the problems that may arise. If a Nurse applies different management practices, she can easily solve the management issue that may arise. Nurses often face the issue, when their roles are not defined, and their do not know their exact responsibility, which creates a problem for them. In such cases, they may need to talk with their reporting staff and discuss their role. Moreover, they must seek advice from senior Nurse Staff, who can assist them better.

On the other hand, the subject of psychology also helps them to understand the nature of the patient. It tells them how to effectively deal with a patient, when the patient is in pain. It is important to provide care and sense of belongingness to the patient. It will help the Nurses to cure the problem in a more efficient manner. The Nurses can engage with Doctors, patients, patient's parents and Hospital staff etc, so they must know how to deal with them.

2. Describe how you demonstrate appropriate teambuilding and collaborative strategies when working with inter professional teams.

Team Building is a very important part of Nursing as it helps the Nurses to effectively carry out their work even when they are inexperienced. The importance could be judged from the experience of a Nurse working in an Organization. She said in order to meet her requirement to provide the same quality of care across all practice settings we had to hire clinical nurses for the five larger clinics. None of the nurses who applied ever worked in ambulatory care. Most came from hospital backgrounds and had cared for patients who required specific nursing tasks for a finite time period.
