Introduction

The human population around the world has been growing exponentially from the centuries. In today's modern world, the population has increased to the great extent. It is estimated that the population has now increased more than the double than it was in last fifty years. Currently the world's population is more than 6 billion and it is being estimated that by the year 2050 the population will further increased to about 9 billion. The increase in world's population has adversely affected the natural resources. The scarcity of the resources has been created and has led some of the countries to be deprived from the food and water necessities.

The following section aims at discussing in detail about the important issues of contemporary world of exponential population growth and it will also be discussed that how the increasing population of the world is negatively impacting the essential natural resources and what will be the further impact of these scarcities of the resources.

Discussion

There are a number of important issues related to the contemporary world of exponential population growth. These issues are required to be resolved with effective and efficient strategies in order to control the over population and the waste of essential resources. Following are the major issues of the resources that are increasing because of the exponential population growth of the world.

Water resources

The world has limited resources and the water resource is also among one of them. The changes that have occurred in the climate of the globe and global warming has already caused the scarcity of the water resources, however, the increase in population has further negatively impacted the resources. According to the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (2013, web source: http://www.un.org/waterforlifedecade/scarcity.shtml), about one-fifth of the population of the world is severely facing the water issues and about 1.6 billion people around the are those who are facing the economic water shortage. It has also mentioned that about 500 million people of the world are approaching towards the lack of water for them. The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs has also mentioned that there is a plenty of water in the world but the issue is that it is unevenly divided among the countries and continents and it is being wasted at the large amount. The water resources resource is require to be managed carefully and efficiently.

As the water is the basic need of the life and the increasing population is creating the major threat to the saving of the sufficient fresh water resources in the world. Although the developed countries like United States have developed the policies and regulations regarding the effective and efficient use of the water resources but the issue is that the developing countries have failed to follow the regulations because of the heavy burden of the populations (Jonathan, M. H., 2013). The issues of water resources can be managed appropriately if the population is controlled by all the countries and the water allocation is managed ...
