How does residential school trauma or the 60's scoop relate to dysfunction in some indigenous families today?

The residential school trauma was the creation of the Canadian federal government to merge the aboriginal people of the North American into the White cultured families. The Sixties scoop was a dark period in the Canadian history which is repeatedly apologized by the religious leaders and government of Canada accordingly.
