Design of the Study

Research design is an element which is present in almost every research. The purpose of the research design is to explain the nature of the research. It is the component that sticks up with the research project. The research design basically structures the research work, and presents how the major portions of the research are combined together and address the main research questions. The authors have not defined that whether the research design is descriptive or experimental, but according to the article it is a descriptive research as it has described a relation between the decision making process by caregivers, in contract with heart failure (Patton, 2005). But yes! The author has described the qualitative design of the research, in relation with the grounded theory model, which is used to investigate the decision making process of the caregivers for the patients suffering with heart failure (Charmaz, 2006). The qualitative design of the study includes the interviews as the research instrument.

Answer # 04

Nature of the Research

The research is qualitative in nature, which can be easily extracted from the data collection method in the research. Firstly, the author has mentioned that the research is based on a qualitative design, which is among the basic characteristics for proving it to be a qualitative design. The second characteristic that reflects the qualitative nature of the research is the data collection method. The research instrument used in this research is ...
