Introduction of the Paper

This paper has an intention for research on the cultural backgrounds of the two countries of the world i.e. Mexico and Central America. There will be a focus on investigation on these two areas that could enable one in learning more about eating habits and living patterns of the people residing in these geographical areas in order to signify the similarities and differences in both cultures. Moreover, this investigation will provide an opportunity to learn about and to share the information with one's classmates regarding the food as well as other cultural values of these two regions.

Introduction of the Countries

Mexico is basically a republic of federal constitution based in North America. It has a northern border with the United States of America and is the 5th largest country in the Americas with an expected population of above 113 million. Mexico has a total of 31 states in its federation (Carmack & Robert, 1996).

Central America is the main geographic area of the Americas and situated at the southern most region of the continent of North America. It is basically a subcontinent and comprises of 7 countries inclusive of Costa Rica, Belize, Panama, El Salvador, Honduras, Guatemala, and Nicaragua (Concha, 1998).

Cultural Backgrounds of the Regions
