ABSTRACT

Every organization around the world has concerns regarding the management of people in their workforce. This issue is widespread in the field of business management. The effective development of human capital in an organisation is one of the crucial factors that determine the success of the organization. It also helps the organization in achieving a distinguishing position in the competitive industry. This concept becomes a challenge for those who manage the workforce in an organization. It requires skills, knowledge and abilities to effectively manage the human resource factor in an organization that could lead the organization to success. One of the core methods of human resource development is through education and training. The reason behind focusing on training and development is that there are continuous changes taking place in the technology and no organization can survive in the market without using advance technology, core competencies of the organizations are build, trainings and development also covers the gap between the formal education, it helps in steering and downsizing, it helps employees in their career path, remove the imbalance in the aging workforce generation and helps in global competition of the business. This study aims at investigating the relationship between training and employees' competency in the Pakistan public sector and evaluating the training strategies utilized in the public sector organisations of Pakistan.
