Introduction

Recently, more and more European business experts and instructors have shown interest in China, along with the attention of the part China has performed in the international economic climate. Little research, however, has been done to describe what is actually occurring in the quality control sector in China. It is considered that some Chinese organizations are taking essential steps on the trip of quality management, but that China still has a long way to go to get up with the innovative nations in the quality management sector. The article under discussion studies the effects of above stated issues on the quality management practices in China.

Analysis

The text within the article under review, considers most of the prevailing literature available on the topic of quality management with respect to China. This can be witnessed by the connection of the article with various numbers of studies conducted on the topic of quality management and the effects of firm characteristics and culture on it. However, the article brings in innovation to the article by critiquing and contrasting the ideas presented in the studies conducted earlier. The article critiques the positivist approach towards quality management by challenging the assumption that Chinese manufactures are prone to earning quick money and not delivering quality products as a cultural aspect of the Chinese people. Moreover, the article also analyses the quality management approach and contemplate on the notion that practice serves as the medium of quality management and critiques the idea that China should practice quality management and the government should try to enforce such practices within firm practices. The article concludes that in order for China to practice to quality management a firms must learn the actual concept of quality management which can then be delivered to the personnel working within these firms (Xingxing, et al, 2011).

The article though considerate of most of the theories and literature available on the topic of quality management and takes into account every detail in contrasting and contemplating the quality management practices with relation to Chinese firm characteristics and culture. However, the article includes or references good form of empirical approach taken to prove their approach. The article is not solely based on ideas and concepts and includes much substantial quantitative or qualitative methodology to prove their point. This leaves the article to fulfill and reduces the risk of adding judgmental factors to the article, however, it is up to the reader of the article whether to accept the notion of the authors and approve the article recommendations, or simply reject it. The article does provide conclusive evidence and decisive factor to the article through its research methodology as it gives the ideas and concepts of the authors, and connects it with other literature present at the time in order along with proving the point with conclusive research.
