Introduction

Patients in hospitals usually use call lights when they require assistance for bathroom usage, personal assistance, or if they require a medication for pain. Any delays in replying to these calls may cause significant discomfort to patients, or even serious falls. The literature available is not enough that correlates the use of patient call lights and its association with effective management of patient care, patient safety, as well as, safety satisfaction (Meade, Bursell, & Ketelsen, 2006, pp. 58-70).
