With the coming times, it has become apparent how fierce the competition is among parents who want to provide the best education for their children. Education in itself has become a priceless commodity and children of our generation seem to be giving it its due importance now that there is such a wide array of fields to choose from and without public apprehension of some fields being more “marketable” than others. The debate over charter schools versus public schools is nothing new, it has seen many phases and still blazes on, with both sides providing good arguments for their cause and although charter schools did not even become as common till the early 90's, they have made a solid impact nonetheless. In this paper, I will be comparing the two education systems, examining the differences as well as the pros and cons of each. In this I hope to achieve a better understanding of both, and hence an expanded scope of knowledge. I will be using a sample from both public and charter schools and will be examining both for their positive as well as negative traits.

Public Schools versus Charter Schools
CHAPTER 01: INTRODUCTION
Problem Statement
Charter schools are much better providers of quality education as compared to public schools.
Research Question
Considering the past empirical and conceptual base, we put forth the following research questions:
To what extent does public or charter schools determine the quality of education?
Are public schools better than charter schools?
Goals of the study
This endeavor and study will first and foremost be a descriptive, as well as an exploratory study. The primary focus of the study will revolve around the comparative weaknesses and strengths of public and charter schools.
Throughout the sources that I have analyzed, the goal of the studies has been comparative. Both strengths and weaknesses of the topic of discussion are examined in depth, as well as the current events progress about them. The goal has been to show the competitiveness of both the charter and public education system. In doing the analysis, I believe I will be able to discern the advantages that a charter school might have over a public school, or vice versa. I believe that through this analysis I will have a thorough understanding of the inner workings of the education system, as well as the myths surrounding each system of education.
The literary citations used in the articles and papers use different schools for their studies, and those that are based on individual schools also conduct interviews with parents, students and teachers. The data collection methods seem to include interviews, surveys and quantitative methods. The research procedure includes doing a thorough background study on the topic which may include historical study as well. In this particular topic, there are several analysis of the different media coverage of the topic ...
