Purpose of article (research): To scrutinize the changes prevailing in the use of coping styles in the context of premature signs of mania in CBT or cognitive-behavioral therapy in comparison with psycho-education aiming at bipolar disorder.

Instrument (s) The research has used interviews and retrospective rating system to gauge day to day progress of the participants. Conducting interview is an effective way of collecting primary information and analyze the acquired data under the light or predetermined objectives. The interviews in the research are semi-structured had aimed to gain personal experiences of the participants. The other instrument that has been used is weekly retrospective rating system to gauge depressive, manic or hypo-manic signs within the participants. Retrospective rating is used when the insured participants in the study is large enough to be managed (Mountain, 2003). The defined scale scores on 6 point scale that starts from having no signs or symptoms at all to severe syndrome. The CIPM (Consultants in Pain Medicine) is based on 23 items with self report sale that aims to assess four kinds of coping actions.

Data Collection In the study, the data has been drawn from a Randomized control trial in comparison to CBT and psycho-education. There is a sample consisting on 119 participants. This sample aims to give a complete and comprehensive inventory of coping for the Prodromes of Mania. There was a complete study made on symptoms assessments prior to the initiation of treatment. The research lasted on 72 weeks after which the ultimate compilation of findings has been made. The average age of the participants was 42.3 years and they have been diagnosed with BD-I or BD-II. The aim was to collect maximum information about the adapted coping styles of the participants while managing their disorder and revealing responses. Psycho-education comprised of six didactic ninety minute sessions that has been retrieved from various published manuals. CBT comprised of twenty participants in fifty minute sessions again retrieved from the published manuals.
