Welfare State

The welfare state is based over different aspects that vary in different countries. The welfare state is basically an ideal model in which the state has the responsibility for the universal and comprehensive welfare of the citizens of the country. Based over the name it is mainly the welfare that is being provided by the state. In many countries this welfare state is a mixture of services that are independent, voluntary and public services.

The United Kingdom

The welfare state of UK is based over three main factors. These are a guarantee of a minimum standard level that includes a minimum level of income, protection that is socially based in a concern of insecurity as well as the services provision at the best possible level. This model of welfare consists of key elements that are social protection, provision of welfare service over the basis of rights. The social welfare of UK is also observed to be different from the ideal model of welfare state. The coverage of welfare is very extensive however; the services and benefits are being delivered at a lower level. The services that are being provided are rationed in a tight manner and the social protection that is provided is patchy.

India

India is also in the lists of welfare state. There are many seats that are reserved for cast and tribes in the jobs of government, education institutions also including the Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha.
