Executive summary

It can be said that project management is the ability of administrating the project and deliverables of projects are assumed to produce finished services or product. There are various ways to carry out a project and project management is referred to the way in which specific project is carried out. It is understood clearly that if management follows scientific and structured approach, businesses would find them losing in the ocean of development and face various modern challenges that business is unable to meet.

In this report we used project management guidelines and project management software to develop an effective project plan for and hospital which are modifying their technology to serve more efficiently.

Introduction

It can be said that project management is the ability of administrating the project and deliverables of projects are assumed to produce finished services or product. There are various ways to carry out a project and project management is referred to the way in which specific project is carried out. There are various components of project management which are: requirement identification; developing logical and attainable objectives; maintaining balance with competing demands of various stakeholders and making sure that harmony of the purpose is attained. It is understood clearly that if management follows scientific and structured approach, businesses would find them losing in the ocean of development and face various modern challenges that business is unable to meet (Shirley, 2011, pp. 75-87). Therefore, it is important for businesses to understand the importance of project management to face the challenges and adopt modern development effectively.

It is also important to have a scientific approach for managing projects and attaining goals. Because without effective approach it could create a difficulty for businesses to execute such project effectively and carry the project on time, scope and quality and the project provides the required results or objectives (Williams, 2008, pp. 50-60). Therefore, it is important, for carrying out any project there should be a well defined structure and also guidelines for carrying out activities to make sure that art of project management is present in a structure.

In this project management case study the objective is to modify the health information system in a way that it gives maximum satisfaction to the users of that system and provide flexibility and ease of access in the system by improving mobile and fixed systems.

Discussion

Part 1

As it is mentioned that there is a deficiency in developing management reports and legacy systems in the hospital's Health Information Systems Development. The hospital is based on 1000 beds and it specializes in the services related to cardiology.

A project management is required to update or modify the Health information system of the hospital. To accommodate the need of the hospital, wireless infrastructure will b required for upgrading the lacking areas.
