Executive Summary

Although sophisticated technologies are already present in the health care industry, further advances are constantly and continuously being made to maximize the benefits deliverables to the stakeholders. Advancement in medical technologies are changing or improving the current practices exponentially. The health care industry across the globe is struggling to shift into a modern health care technology era. According to a research report published by the institute of medicine (IOM) during 2000; “More individuals die or expire in a given year due to medical errors than from AIDS, Breast Cancer or motor vehicle (Academeis). Improvements in the Health IT ease the management of medical information between healthcare providers and consumers.

Currently, health monitoring and improvement technologies are mostly implemented in hospitals and other health care facilities (Bansal, 2007, p.1).. In this assignment, we are going to design a project management plan for implementing the mobile monitoring technologies in a hospital or other health care centre. We have listed the whole process into four main parts. In the first part, we are going to elaborate the specification of each mobile technology used by the health care system. Second part involves the planning of the entire project, than a detailed analysis of the financial side of the project is given. Finally, Gantt and Pert charts about the project are given to assist the management.

Rapid and recent adaptation of powerful health care computing technologies creates a new preventive healthcare opportunities. Healthcare information systems are swiftly modifying the current scenario of the health care system. Apart from this reality that the health care Information technology has the power to change the health care system, Research have found that extensive usage remains low among practitioners, consumers, physician and rural hospitals.

To implement the desired health development system, project managers need to implement the following technologies in the organization. These technologies play a very critical role in the development of health management system.

Immediate Access to the Internet

In today's world, internet is playing a vital role in the development of a society. The use of internet as a starting point for medical information source is becoming more popular and admirable as more patients go online. We are planning to provide high speed internet to our stakeholders including customers, regulators, trustees, physicians, doctors and paramedical staff. High speed internet access will assist these parties in making right decisions. Internet with speed of 20 megabytes per second is very useful in developing the intranet and extranet connections of organization. To ensure the availability of high speed internet we need a reliable supplier. For this purpose, we are planning to take the services of “Dodo internet”. Selection of Dodo as internet provider is done due to three main reasons 1) Comparatively low price per year 2) Vast network coverage 3) free maintenance services (Brigham, Houston, 2012, p. 349)..
