Introduction

The Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) is a genetic disorder that is characterized at birth growth by a decrease in muscle tone (hypotonia) and difficulty in feeding. During life, the regulation of various vital functions may be disturbed: metabolism, growth, sexual development, breathing and sleep, sensitivity to pain, emotional control and stress resistance.

An expenditure of calories reduced and an excessive intake of food (binge) in the absence of control, resulting in severe obesity. Learning disabilities and behavioral problems can be also present. The severity of manifestations varies greatly from child to child (Schrander, 2004).
