Summary

Recent literature on the teaching science strongly suggests that the teachers should decide the conceptions and ideas of the existing student's, in order to assist them in building up and enhancing their own understanding and knowledge about the subject. In order to implement this method, teacher should assist their students and appreciate their ideas and conceptions; the teacher needs to be aware of their student's abilities and should modify and enhance their skills under the light of the scientific knowledge.

Teaching with the help of practical examples, becomes easier for the students to understand the phenomena of the theories of scientific study. (Parkinson, 2004, 112-198) It is a very important part of teaching as it will help in building up the knowledge and information about scientific study. The practical work is important in order to develop the student's understanding about the knowledge related to science, ideas and, views and the objective. The main purpose of working practically is to help students in learning the models, relationship theories, concepts and ideas. It is observed and seen that studying by the help of practical work has been extremely effective in order to proper strategies for students and teaching them clear ideas and theories.

Rationale:

The purpose of this research is to discuss and discover the role and importance of practical work in the teaching at key stage 3 and key stage 4. It may be helpful to get started with usual ideas and views about scientific study and its education in order to clear the thoughts and ideas that this research contains. (Wellington, 2000, 276) This will be useful in understanding about how essential it is to create the skills of the tutor's in order to teach by using more and more of the practical work.

It might be helpful to start with some of the usual remarks about the scientific study and education, to clearly state the perspectives that this study has adopted. This research contains the examination of whether teacher can produce effective results by using practical work or not? And if yes, then in what ways it could do so?

Literature Review

Most researches that study the effectiveness of practical work in teaching Science has shown no conclusive results, and role he has occupied in the science curriculum in the course of our century has always been subjected controversial.

A number of functions of the laboratory work are recognized in scientific education. Firstly, it will give opportunity to the students to gain extensive skill. Secondly, it will provide the students, an experience in doing observations with some critical perspectives as well. On the other hand, the students acquire great knowledge about different techniques of experiments. Practical work also provides opportunities in order to develop a number of skills in the students.
