Thesis: Plato is not an adverse opponent of the Athenian democracy; he is a devoted citizen working for the Athenian democracy to live up to its ideals.

Plato was born into an aristocratic Athenian family, and he increased up throughout the Peloponnesian War. It is probable that he assisted in the cavalry in diverse crusades contrary to Sparta.
