A large park on Dublin's north side, formed as a deer park in 1662. The park includes Dublin's zoo and Áras an Uachta-ráin (Irish, 'the abode of the president'), a building dating from 1751 and enlarged after 1782, when it became the residence of the lord lieutenants; after the foundation of the Irish Free State it became the residence of the governor-general (and was nicknamed Uncle Tim's Cabin, after the first governor-general, Tim Healy); it is now the residence of the Irish president-hence the expression going for the Park, meaning putting oneself forward as a candidate for the presidency.

The Phoenix Zoo entertainment goes hand in hand with conservation, respect for animal life and education. Since opening its doors in 1962 until today, the Phoenix Zoo has become a sanctuary for conservation as dreamed its visionary founder, Robert Maytag, from one of the pioneer families in the Valley of the Sun (Hereford, 105-112).
Over 1300 animals divided habitats located in different paths and tracks like "The Arizona Trail", with the fauna and flora typical of the American Southwest, "The African Trail," " The Children's Trail ", which includes a petting zoo, offer visitors a place of recreation, but also single contact with nature, this being the Zoo nonprofit largest in the U.S., which is not funded by example of the city of Phoenix and whose means of support is through its members, visitors and donors.
