Introduction

This paper is formulated to under the phenomenon of crime. In this paper, the personal understanding of the crime, its occurrence and what variables are associated with the occurrence of any crime. A personal criminological theory is presented to understanding this notion in personal understanding (James, J. D., & Michele, W. G. 2008).

Before understanding the other factors, which are associated with the crime, firstly it is essential to understand, what crime is and who can be declared as a criminal. Crime is essentially going against the standards accepted across a particular social group. It is principally the difference within the set of beliefs, which create reactions that harm other individual(s) lives in that particular societal group (John, F. G. 2011). Therefore, Criminal is fundamentally someone who breaks laws and standards for which a governing body could order conviction.

Occurrence of Crime

The occurrence of a crime if dependent upon a variety of factors, which can affect the state of a human mind, and it can compel towards criminal activities. In our daily routine, we come across with various criminal activities, either directly or indirectly. The occurrence of crime could have deep association with the social arrangement and structure of the society, and also with the economic, socio-economical and other educational factors, which could become a great cause of criminal activities (Dooley, B. D. 2010).

Societies with less educational culture and poor socio-economic structure tend to engage into more criminal activities, as compare to educated and well structured societies. This is merely the reason that in third world countries, the rate of crime occurrence is rather on the higher side against the developed and educated regions.

Why People Commit Crime

People commit crimes under pressure. No individual in this world could involve into illegal activity, without any genuine intrinsic reason. The factors can include social, psychological, financial or any other pressure that can cause an individual to diminish the difference between right and wrong, and shatter all the ethical and moral values of being a respectable citizen (John, F. G. 2011). Global researchers have found that financial pressures are considerably amongst the biggest reasons of changing the psychological state of an individual to commit into crime.
