Introduction

This coursework is based on the changes which I would make at 'Talk Team UK' in order to increase levels of job satisfaction at the company and motivate workers to perform their tasks effectively. The case study briefly reflects that employees at Talk Team UK are dissatisfied due to various factors such as excessive workload, lack of team spirit, unattractive compensation benefits, lack of training and development etc.

I believe that motivation plays a vital role in organizational behaviour and is one of its pillars. Without motivation, organizations may not be able to achieve its goals and objectives. Therefore, in order to be successful, Talk Team UK has to motivate its employees to keep the momentum of performance going. These motivational factors play an important role in determining the level of motivation (Rich, 2006).

Discussion and Analysis

I believe that the primary contributor towards employee engagement is the nature of the work. If the wok is preferred by the employee and he loves to do it, his focus will be on his work and will make an effort to perform his duties effectively. The support from the managers at Talk Team UK should be an important consideration since without support; no one will feel motivated to perform his duties with diligence. In order to motivate employees, Talk Team UK should provide its employees with wither intrinsic or extrinsic incentives. The incentive offered to each employee should be determined by his behaviour and attributes. If a person is motivated by intrinsic incentives, there is a big possibility that extrinsic incentives will not have any impact on the motivation. Therefore, it is important for every manager at Talk Team UK to first determine the need that motivates each employee before setting goals and linking them to rewards. Usually, it is difficult to offer the exact requirement of the individuals. It is important to note that people feel belonged to an organization when they receive the satisfaction the desire from the work they do. In these circumstances, they also get engaged in their task as they are happy with what they do. The association between job satisfaction and employee engagement cannot be overlooked since an employee can only be engaged in his work when he is satisfied with his job (Sarwar, 2011).

I believe that it is important that Talk Team UK should promote an extrinsic motivation that is inspired by outside forces, while intrinsic motivation is motivation that is inspired by a person. Both types of motivation are essential for success.

I recommend that to achieve long-term improvements in productivity, it is essential to improve the quality of the work environment at Talk Team UK. Deterioration in the working environment not only leads to higher levels of absenteeism, turnover and resignations, but the slow, boredom and indifference, psychologically withdraws staff from their work and attitude prevails exactly meet the required minimum.
