This study is intended to determine the parent's effects on child development. To conduct this study qualitative approach has been used. For this purpose, the published research papers have been reviewed. The findings of the study indicate that parents have a profound impact over the child personality development and improved parenting leads to improved development outcomes such as social competence, emotional competence, interpersonal skills, improved wellbeings, better communication skills and success in academic life. These results can be availed successfully only when parents know their importance in rising up a child.

Introduction
Child development can be explained as a continuous change in children with the passage of time. The early development has great importance as it helps throughout the life. The word development means the acquisition of skills. Child development can be defined in a way that the skills that are required to be acquired to deal in all aspects of a child's life.
Parents have a very fundamental part in development and personality building of their child as a child spends his early ages with them. Children are innocent when they are born. Parents are children's first teacher. They are like blank papers when they come into this world. Now it solely depends on the parents how they fill up those empty papers with the words of their nurturing. Parents are supposed to be the role model for their children. They learn things from their adults. So it's upon parents how they want their children to be. Children observe their surroundings. They do whatever they see their elders are doing. So, here comes the crucial part because if parents lie in front of them, they will also learn this negative attribute from them and they will automatically follow them. Basic role of parents is to fulfill the basic needs of their children that include nurturing, education and discipline But only fulfilling basics are not important, parents are supposed to be children centered if they really want their children to be developed in every aspect. This needs active participation of parents in their nurturing.
Purpose
The main objective of this study is:
To understand the parents' role in developing their child. How they effect in building their personality.
Another purpose is to analyze how improved parenting leads towards improved results in children growth.
Significance
Parents play a crucial role in character building of their children. Appropriate parent-child relationships results in acquiring a variety of competencies and each competency is important in a child's life as it helps fostering self-esteem as well as self-belongingness. Better parenting helps children to become competent thinkers as well as promotes the sense of self-reliance.
