A large number of different racial, minority and ethnic groups have been formed in the country due to this increasing trend of immigration. Within the past thirty five years, the number of immigrants to the United States has risen tripled. As a result of the immigration, the number of children of the immigrant parents has also risen. The increased number of immigrants also has increased the number of people who are deported each year from the country. They have to leave behind their children in the United States, which causes a lot of troubles, not only for the parents, but also the children. The problem of the children of the immigrant parents who are ultimately deported is a heart breaking and a pressing one. Once they are deported, the children and the deported parents face a tough time. These children usually end up in foster care homes. The stress and the problems that the vulnerable and young children face is hard to understand and estimate. A number of families are broken each year in the process of deporting of parents. In 1970, the share of children with one at least one of the parents an immigrant was only six percent. This value has risen to more than twenty percent. The sights of crying children and crying parents are commonly seen after the parents are deported and children, who are US citizens are kept in the country.
