Outline of the Research Project

Introduction

Depression is one the major causes of deaths in today's world and there are various causes for this extremely dangerous decease. This study particularly deals with some aspects related to the study and finds out whether these factors cause depression or not. From the previous studies, it has been found out that cultural identity, self esteem, community support and family are the main cause depression. For this purpose, a survey was managed and then depending on that survey statistical results have been found out through various statistical techniques to prove the hypothesis of the study (Berg, 2007).

Explanation of the variables

The above variables which have been used in the study will be defined below to explain the importance of using these variables in the study.

Cultural Identity

Culture is considered as the most important tool that can relate a person to his identity. It has been observed through various studies that people who do not live with their family or they live abroad are the major victims of depression. The reason is that when they used to live with the people related to other cultures they try to feel something missing and that is why cultural identity in some cases leads to cause depression in the people.

Self Esteem

Another important factor that has been analyze through the past studies that self esteem of a person plays a major role in the creation of his / her character. The person, who has self esteem in him, will not share anything with others and even with his relatives or family. The studies have proved that those people who do not share their views with others are certainly got depressed because they keep their personal things inside them (Berg, 2007). This problem of self esteem also usually found in those people who live abroad.

Community support

The communities are assets for people who are living abroad and even in their homeland. They provide assistance and support at every stage of the time and in some cases without analyzing their personal interest. The support of the community is extremely important for the purpose that people can share things with their community and if they are found in any problem, the community helps them.
