Thesis Statement

“The application of intelligence today has become an essential tool for interpreting the information in any organization”.

Introduction

Organizational Intelligence is the transformation of individual organizational knowledge organized corporate knowledge to share processes and policies of the organization, standardize business models and be able to respond creatively to market demands. It is the integration of all elements necessary for the automation of processes that facilitate the achievement of organizational strategy (Whittington, 2001).

In essence, it is the means to ensure levels of effectiveness, efficiency and productivity within an organization in a sustained and controlled with a unit of human resources. An organization is a very orderly planned system where people know their role within the company. Modern Organizations in this sense, are intelligent, they know what they need, which delivered, and what they are, we're not talking about a specific person, we are talking about an organization, strangely enough this organization is so well planned, has its own life and as such can be analyzed, divided, structured to assess their overall performance (Whittington, 2001).

Organizational intelligence is a process of analysis of goods, documents or data accumulated in the organization, is responsible for extracting knowledge from them. Therefore it is considered a new approach and a culture with which universities must have for the management and use of information in today's society (Wheelen & Hunger, 2006).

Discussion

Organizational intelligence is conceived as the capacity and function of collecting and analyzing data in order to record and disseminate relevant information about the external environment and internal conditions of the organization systematically. This creates suitable knowledge for decision-making and strategic direction of organizations (Treverton, 2005).

However, intelligence and information management project to the environment surrounding the organization, which must be understood. Institutions are surrounded, both internally and externally, of information, but it does not always correspond to the expectations and demands of society and the organizational. When communicating business processes, it is important to act with intelligence, commitment, wisdom, insight and thought critical. Sometimes, the information may contain errors or inaccuracies, used for unethical personal interests or be confusing and inconsistent (Steiger, 2008).

So if there are no adequate management information units, which corresponds to the current management trends, the public higher education institutions could obtain favorable results in their actions of organizational intelligence (Treverton, 2005).

Based on the ideas about information management and organizational communication, and in order to avoid the forecasts presented in this research is to identify the communication aspects of intelligence related to the management organizational unit's information (Kickbusch, 2009).

Communication Aspects of Organizational Intelligence

The relationship established between communication and intelligence is seen differently in correspondence with the concepts and the contexts in which they develop. However, the characteristics of each, lead to ensure that the organizational intelligence, communication information and are complementary (Kalkan & Keskin, 2007).
