Job Design and Work

Job designs are essential to pursue a career in professional industry. It is made to manage various elements related to a job, keeping in mind the organizational and individual working requirement. There are various job design techniques, which are currently under practice, and various newly emerging professional and amateur professionals are using these techniques to pursue their career.

Traditional Approach

Being a professional, the argument is generated to formulate a job designed with regards to my current job. Presently, I am working as a floor manager at star bucks. The primary job description is to manager every staff that is operating within my space and I also need to check the product quality and assurance of customer satisfaction (Garg, & Rastogi, 2006). However, there are two primary ways to job design. First, starts with the traditional approach to job design. One of the traditional approaches is human approach. This phenomenon states that every individual that is operating within your space of authority. As per this traditional approach, jobs should please an individual's need for appreciation, admiration, enlargement and accountability. Job enhancement as elucidated and enlightened by Herzberg's research is one the ways in human approach of job design. Herzberg categorized these featured into two groupings - the hygiene factors and the motivators.

Alternative Approach

However, the second approach to job design is Alternative approach. The most common type of alternative approach is engineering approach. A scientific principle to job design is the approach based in this conceptual framework. Work, according to this phenomenon shall be systematically examined and disjointed into logical tasks (Hacker, 2003). Due importance is then laid on systematizing the tasks so that a convinced rational succession is followed for competent implementation of the same. This move toward also lays due importance on compensating employees suitably and training them incessantly for work good organization.

Starbucks

It was accurate when the first Starbucks opened in 1971, and its exactly as accurate today. In those days, the group was a lone store in Seattle's important Pike Place Market.
