About the Organization

I work in a psychiatric ward, in a hospital. Usually in every part of the world, 20% of the hospitals are specialty hospitals, rest all of them are general hospitals and I also work in a general hospital. Hospitals are institutions that provide healthcare to people who are ill, and treatment is provided to them by the specialized staff at the hospital (McSherry, 2010). The hospital I work in offers a wide range of services and facilities. These services from as small as a blood test to as large as a cardiac or brain surgery. A general hospital comprises of a number of employees - all of them with different backgrounds and different work responsibilities. These professionals are responsible for performing their part of the job, and every employee is required to be very careful while treating patients because they are dealing with the lives of people. If they fail to do so, harsh actions are taken against them, and they can also be sued by the patients. There are a number of professionals in a hospital, a few of them are mentioned below:

Surgeons

Physicians

Dentists

Pharmacists

Nursing Staff

Laboratory technicians

Physical therapists

Orthopedists

Pediatrician

Cardiologist

Neurologist

Apart from these professionals, there are the administrative staffs as well who play a vital role in the hospital. They are the supporting staff, and, without them, it is impossible to manage the activities of the hospital. The administrative staffs include

Admitting Officers

Coordinators of Health Wellness

Directors of Hospital Public Relations

Directors of Nursing Home Activities

Directors of Quality Assurance

Directors of Volunteer Services

Receptionists
