The importance of shared information in a learning organization as compared to an efficient performance organization can be ascertained by the fact that collaboration and communication is promoted with the help of shared information, enabling all the organization members to be actively involved in the identification and solution of the problems. This continuous process of learning makes it possible for the organization to improve and enhance its capabilities (Daft, 2010, pp. 31). A learning organization has a characteristic of horizontal organizational structure which put emphasis on self-directed teams having members from different functional areas (Daft, 2010, pp. 31).
