Introduction

Tesco is the world third largest leading grocery store after Wal-Mart. Tesco has grown immensely since its inception and now operates its operation in many countries across borders. The operations at Tesco are run successfully through strategic strategies and well executed and integrated programs. Through 100% quality services Tesco has acquired competitive customer satisfaction and captures major portion of the retail industry.

Change is a constant. We witness change in everything in our life within our own established little world and beyond. With these immensely increasing changes the world is becoming more and more complex and interrelated. It is becoming quite difficult for the people, organization and society to keep pace with the constantly changing changes. We are slowly becoming capable of pacing up with the constant changes and coping to with the world's speed. The incredible amount of changes is forcing the individuals and the organizations to look at the big picture and increase their awareness of how and why events occur and what are their corresponding affects.

Organization Development at Tesco

Just like the changes in the human life similar changes have been examined in the organization structuring and functioning. The traditional approaches of working have been radically changed with new modes of working and new policies. For example at Tesco the operation of the retailing store were quite simple in the past but the new and advance mode of working have radically shifted the way operations were incorporated in the past. The work which was in the past done by single employee at Tesco is divided among three other employees of different departments with their parts of roles and responsibilities(Doughty, 2012).

For an organizational changes to occur successfully different researchers and scholars have developed different theories of change which are applicable keeping in view the type and nature of change the organization persist. At Tesco since its inception changes are established with three perspectives such as either developmental changes, transitional changes or transformational changes. Depending upon the type of change at Tesco the relevant nature of the change can be identified such as evolutionary change or a radical change.

Developmental Strategies at Tesco

Tesco is a place where the business sells goods and services to other businesses or individuals. Tesco store comprise of all types of goods ranging from cosmetic, apparel, electronics and other household items. Tesco offers goods and services to the customers and business under one roof at an affordable and reasonable price. The competition in the retail industry is increasing at an immense rate. Customers are changing their preferences on the small difference of money and quality .This constantly changing preference of employees is posing serious threat to Tesco operation worldwide (Cunningham, 2012). The increase competition and changing customer preferences is making it difficult for Tesco to survive with the new and advance changes in the retail industry. This challenge is confronted through effective development of strategic strategies.
