The optical art action has been particularly widespread in American art since the1960s, but the method actually finds back to the year 1839 and one French pharmacist, Michel-Eugene Chevreul. He revised the result of pairing complimentary colors, and his leverage disperse significantly to the dad of Op art, Georges Seurat, the inventor of pointillism (Rand 1990 ).
