Introduction

Most commonly known as the Olympic Stadium, it is located at the Olympic Park in Stratford, London. It was primarily constructed to serve as a host stadium in England for important international even that includes Paralympics and 2012 Summer Olympics. This study includes exploring of how architecture wonders can affect a country and will consequently discuss the importance of the Olympic stadium for England. The aim of this paper is to analyze the impact of this stadium on England's politics, economy and international image and relations.

Discussion

The Land preparation for the Olympic Stadium was initiated in mid-2007. It was in the year 2012 when this stadium had its first ever public event. With a capacity of around 80,000 spectators, the London Olympic stadium is England's third-largest stadium behind the Twickenham Stadium and Wembley Stadium.The figure provides a view to the stadium wand only highlights the perfection of its design of not just the stadium but the infrastructure around it.

This is perhaps the reason why the stadium has been grabbed the attention of various architects, sports fans and economists and hence several helpful literature exists highlighting the impact of the stadium on the country.

Literature review

Irons (2000) analyzed the effects of Olympic Games on the host country thereby comparing the GDP growth rates of the Olympic hosts from the 1952-2000 in accordance their average long term growth rates. Iron concludes that in four years that lead up to Olympics growth rates are recorded to be higher than the average, with an amount as much as 1.5%. The study explains the importance of the Olympic Games for strengthening any country's economy.

Various experts have also emphasized on the point that similar to other Olympic host countries, England's basic focus is on improving and strengthening its global status in this era of the growing urban-inter competition. In fact, studies have shown that is the economic benefits that encourages nations to invest on the construction of these enormous stadiums for arragnging different events (Chalkley & Essex, 1999, pp.370).

Many studies discuss the emergence of the Olympic Games as a major catalyst of the urban change. In addition, these games can serve as an important element of the urban policy for all the host cities. The report analyze and explains the impact of the Olympic stadiums on the built atmosphere and environment of many cities that who hosted the period of modern Olympic period.
