Introduction

The purpose of this paper is to expand the boundaries of our knowledge by exploring some relevant facts and figures relating to Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). This disorder is characterized by the occurrence of compulsions and obsessions, excessive or unreasonable, causing significant discomfort, a waste of time (take more than one hour per day) or significantly interfere with the individual's daily routine, their relations (or academic) or social and family life.
