Nursing is a noble profession that incorporates the highly professional and intellectually skilled health care professionals, called the nurses. These nurses are the first line responders; therefore, they can be regarded as the pillars of primary health care. The basic duty of a nurse is to provide optimum care to the patient, with extended awareness and to take steps in order to improve the quality of health care delivery.

There have been a wide variety of theories and models based on the researches and studies by the professionals. It is necessary that a nurse should study these models and theories, assess the real practicing environment and implement the models in practice. Evaluation f the outcomes should be done by the nurturing professionals to improve their quality of care.
