Introduction

The term leadership can have interpretations attached to it, however, in the context of this paper it is essential to analyze and define leadership in the field of nursing. In Nursing, the leadership refers to those nurses who can motivate other nurses to play their part more effectively and contribute to the overall improvement of the system. However, to motivate others it is essential that the nurse should have a positive attitude towards work. So that, the nurse transpires other by their example and like a true leader, lead from the front. By having the positive attitude towards their work, it means that the nurse incites other nurses to do their daily tasks with an equal amount of efficacy and affectivity. This also involves giving the requisite respect to the team members and behaving well with the patients. However, where it is important for the nurse to make sure that other nurses throughout, does their tasks as well as that a nurse who tends to play the role of leadership should also meet personal objectives. It is necessary for the leader to demand from others, only the things, which he/she can achieve, whatever he/she fails to achieve should not be asked by others to achieve those objectives (Solman, 2010).

My Path

The leadership style, I intend, to follow and adapt in my career as a nurse is one known as Quantum Leadership style. This style enables a nurse to make better decisions in favor of himself/herself and favor of the patient. This leadership style would make the observation of a nurse far superior as compared to other nurses.
