Introduction

Healthcare systems and operations have become very busy and demands constant changes. In order to maintain high standards of patient care and manage the health care system effectively, a reliable nursing leadership is required so that the nursing staff can achieve the targeted goals. Several leadership strategies can be adopted by the nursing leader to increase staff motivation, maintain staff retention and encourage the employees to contribute widely in the execution of efforts. Leadership role in nursing demands consistent improvements so as to meet the standards of patient care and build a stable environment.

Leadership comprises of many different fields but in general leadership is defined as the ability to describe the vision and guide a group of people or individuals towards the accomplishment of that vision. Along with it is also important to maintain the effectiveness of performance, maintain commitment towards the goals and promote teamwork. It is the responsibility of the leader to ensure that all the members of the team work in collaboration and the productivity of the group meets the desired demands. A leader with good leadership qualities will be the binding force group cohesion. Leadership provides the means and assembles the foundation for the work commitments. The motivation and the compliance of the group are based upon that foundation (Sanford, Year Missing, p.2).

Purpose of the Study

The purpose of the study is to highlight the leadership skills in nursing faculty so to improve the quality and core competenices, the study focus on the leadership theories and how the implementation enables to meet the challenges and prepare the nurses with the skills, knowledge and aptitudes required to improve the quality of work within the healthcare system.

Aims And Objectives

The main objective of the study is to discuss and focus the implementation of leadership strategies and theories in nursing faculty to improve the outcomes of quality care in a healthcare setting.

Analyze the ethical issues associated with the nursing ledership and quality improvement which require insight and implementation.

The benefits and competenices which will bring the effective results in terms of improved patient care.

Leadership skills which are commonly required by nursing faculty to achieve the common quality measures and competency goals.
