Introduction

Athletics dates back to the Greek and Roman Era. Athletics are played by Athletes who are trained for a particular sport. Back before B.C Athletes were considered to be prized possessions of the tribes which existed. As the 21st century came and modern technology took place, countries like USA created proper organization for promising Athletes so they would get the recognition they need and also the funding. So, NAIA (The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) was created which provided a platform for the many American High school children with an opportunity to excel in the sport they preferred playing. Moreover, it is an athletic association that organizes college and university-level athletic programs. Schools, colleges and universities need to register themselves so that prospective and potential students can easily get access to the sporting federation. Therefore, it has head quarters in America only but now has gone over borders and recently has four members in Canada and a member in Bahamas. So NAIA is providing a platform for everyone and not only American children. For the 2010-11 academic years, the NAIA (The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) has got more than 300 schools registered and who are actively contributing. Currently, the headquarters are located in Kansas City, Missouri The NAIA sponsors 23 national championships. (Symonds, 2009)

Moreover, it has successfully registered by many schools and those schools are known as NAIA schools which mean that students graduating from those schools will have an access to apply through a proper channel and the school stuff would help them. (Walker, 2009). Moreover, this association has a certain eligibility criteria which allow the deserving students to take part in the sport of their choice. This association is there to provide a platform to the many of the students of US. More than 100, 00 high school children apply for the NAIA (The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) for various sports. The Eligibility Centre claims that they student can get an early response provided he/she U.S. high school student who has completed their junior year with an overall 3.00 GPA on a 4.00 scale and have scored at least 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT may receive an early eligibility decision. The student must then registers with the NAIA Eligibility Center, makes his or her high school send an official transcript to the Eligibility Center and then contact ACT or SAT to have test scores sent to the NAIA (Code 9876).
