Introduction

Safeguarding is a right of everyone. In general terms it is keeping safe from any kind of harm. It is all about protecting the vulnerable adult or the children from maltreatment or abused. There are voluntary groups and work community that works for the children protection that will help them keep safe from emotional and physical well being. Safeguarding is a concept that applies to everyone, children, young people and vulnerable adult.

It is important for everyone, which includes, children, individuals and families to acquire safety from anyone that come across. To do this, one should be able to recognise the signs of abuse, should react accordingly to the alleged abuse, awareness of local and national context of safeguarding, and how to report the unsafe practices. There are many types of abuses, and they can be omitted. It can be in the form of physical such as pushing, hitting, slapping, kicking (Anonymous, 2009, p.3).The other can be of sexual, psychological or racist.

The purpose of the study is highlight the safeguarding issue and how it applies to everyone. This will further talk about the role of multi agency and its positive and negative impacts.

Discussion

As safeguarding is everyone's business it is important to understand it from different perspectives. The following will give areas where safeguarding is essential.

Adult safeguarding

Adult safeguarding involves the one to be protected, prevented and empowered by the situations that can lead one to be a vulnerable state. It is to help in the well being, sustain independence and execute their right to live a life that is free from abuse and neglect. The adult safeguarding is complex and has serious implications on the person being affected and the community. It will require strong leadership and multi agency working.

The multi-agency offers the safeguarding plan that reduces the risk of one or group of individuals (Anonymous, 2009, p.2).. This plan is executed after the safeguard assessment has been taken place. This is carried out in order to establish the levels of risk and if the neglect or abuse occurred.

Children safeguarding

The types of abuse that children face are maltreating, insulting, incorrect use of oral attacks, dishonest exercises on an individual. The most authoritative survey was conducted in UK that was observed the abuse, maltreatment and neglect of children in the region. The study was based on the random probability. In UK, physical violence is mostly a family affair. 7% of the children are physically abused by their parents or carers, that includes hitting, beating or burned. 6%suffers from ignorance and there is no physical care for the child. These children are left alone are not looked after for food, illness and situations where parents are needed. 1% of the children are sexually harassed by carer or the parent, whereas 3% face the sexual assault by their relatives.
