Introduction

Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen. The first customer of Microsoft was MITS computers to whom they sold the BASIC, which was the first PC computer language program. Microsoft was incorporated as Microsoft Inc in 1981. Similarly, in the same year the 16 bit operating system of Microsoft was used by IBM in its first personal computer. In 1982 Microsoft UK ltd was incorporated. In 1983 Microsoft introduced for MS-DOS 1.00, Microsoft mouse and Microsoft Word. In 1985 Microsoft and IBM signed a joint development agreement. Furthermore, in 1986 Microsoft decided to go public and its stocks were priced at 21 US dollars per share.

In 1987, the company introduced the first CD-ROM application and Microsoft Bookshelf. In 1992 Bill Gates was awarded the national medal for technological achievement. The year 1993 was important in the history of Microsoft, as in this year it introduced windows NT. In 1996, Microsoft acquired Vermeer technologies and the application of it called front page. In 2000 the company acquired the Visio Corporation which is the largest acquisition for the company up till now. In 2001, the window XP was introduced globally. Later on it introduced Windows Vista, windows 2007 and windows 2008. Today it is the largest software company in the company in the world.

Microsoft is the largest software company in the world. The core business of Microsoft includes manufacturing, developing and licensing software products. Similarly, it deals with the server applications, operating systems, software development tools, and consumer and business applications. It also deals with the internet software services and technologies. Headed by Bill Gates, who is the most famous businessman and one of the richest individual of the world, Microsoft has been able to place at least one of its products on almost every personal computer throughout the world. The early founders of the Microsoft were Allen and Gates they worked very hard initially to do something different.

The big opportunity for Microsoft came in 1980 when IBM started to develop the personal computers. It was fortunate that due to IBM's differences with the digital research Microsoft was given chance and the operating system of IBM was designed by Microsoft.
