Introduction

Orciprenaline (INN, furthermore renowned as metaproterenol) is a bronchodilator used in the remedy of asthma. Orciprenaline is a quite selective beta2-adrenergic receptor agonist that stimulates receptors of the smooth muscle in the lungs, uterus, and vasculature providing skeletal muscle, with negligible or no effect on alpha-adrenergic receptors (Jenne, 394).
