Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic and systemic inflammatory disease of unknown etiology characterized by pain, swelling, tenderness, and deformity of the joints. RA initially affects joints asymmetrically. Diseases modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) are a group of medications commonly used in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. They work to decrease pain and inflammation, to reduce or prevent joint damage, and to preserve the structure and function of the joints. Early use of DMARD is the most recommended and suggested approach to treatment. The most effective treatment for rheumatoid arthritis includes early diagnosis and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs. In this research paper we shall study the difference between traditional treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and effectiveness of initial DMARD treatment. We shall study that pilots suffering from a critical disease like rheumatoid arthritis should definitely take care of it at an early stage by using DMARDs which is the most effective and aggressive approach in order to live a carefree and career oriented life. There are various DMARDs they can explore depending on the type, symptoms and stage of RA they are facing. It all depends on what the doctor advices them to do who will scan their disease and let them know of the possible DMARD therapy that can suit them the best.

Introduction
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is one of the main types of arthritis. Arthritis is defined as pain and inflammation of a joint. Osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and gout are the most common. Osteoarthritis is believed to be caused by muscle imbalances, acute injury, cumulative injury, and genetic predisposition. Rheumatoid arthritis is the result of the immune system attacking the joints. Gout is caused by the deposition of uric acid crystals in the joints.
Rheumatoid Arthritis - A Chronic Inflammatory Condition
Rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the affected joints. Individuals with RA have antibodies in their blood that attack and destroy their own tissue. Not only joint tissue can be affected in rheumatoid arthritis but also many other tissues within the body can be attacked as well. A newer term used to describe the condition is rheumatoid disease instead of rheumatoid arthritis. Even though it is a prolonged and progressive disorder, patients may often have periods without symptoms.
