Overview of Nestlé

Nestlé is world's leading nutrition health and wellness company. Their mission is to provide the consumers best products that would satisfy their needs and demands. Nestlé mission is to provide quality food and quality life to the consumers. This is why it is providing quality products to its consumers that are according to the customers' needs and demands.

Nestlé is a Swiss company that has been into making products related to food and snacks. It was formed in 1905 by the merging of Anglo Swiss Milk Company and Farine Lactee Hneri Nestlé. The company prospered and expanded significantly in First World War. It expanded in Second World War as well with its products for infants.

It is among the major companies in UK that is working hard to produce quality products that are up to the consumers' satisfaction. Amongst its best products, KitKat, Nescafe, Smartees and Shreddies are the famous ones that are enjoyed by customers of all ages. Nestlé does not compromise on quality and their products are available at nominal range. In UK alone, Nestlé has 6500 workers that are working in 20 sites. Nestlé is one major exporter that exports products worth £260m every year. The products are exported to over 50 countries globally. The sister companies of Nestlé are Nestlé water, Nestlé cereals, Nespresso, and Nestlé Purina Petcare.

Nestlé products include chocolates, baby cereals, coffee, breakfast cereals, water, dairy products, juices, snacks and pet food. Nestlé has 450 factories in 85 countries. It has 8000 brands that produce wide range of products in the market. It is a stakeholder of world's largest cosmetics company called L'Oreal. In 2011, Nestle made a sale of 107.6 billion with a net profit of 10.43 billion with 27% sale in drinks and 26% sale in dairy and food products. The maximum sale was generated in Europe in 2011 which was around 32%. Nestlé largest competitors are Kraft foods, Unilever and Mars Inc. Nestlé ranked number one in consumer food products by FortuneMar 1, 2013. Nestle quality products bring flavours to everyday life.

Marketing can be defined as the management of profitable customer relationship with the organisation. Organisations use the concept of marketing to keep the customers satisfied. The aim of marketing is to make the selling of product redundant (Reimer, 2008, p.9). Marketing Principles are used to identify the needs and requirements of the customers.
