Introduction

This essay is divided into two main parts, in which we will research a successful global business form and its case study for further analysis. In this paper, I have selected the topic “Social entrepreneurship by design”. In the second part of essay, I have chosen a case study of “Mercy Charitable Foundation,” which is a global social enterprise that works for the mercy of people. Social enterprises are those organizations whose key purpose is to distribute common and economical goods. These kinds of enterprises use techniques and disciplines of business for advancing their environmental, social and human justice programs. In the initial days, the movement of social enterprise was defined mainly with nonprofit organization that utilized business models and drawn income strategies for pursuing their mission. In the current time, it also known for profits making organization whose purpose is social. It has been observed that mission is a fundamental and primary key to achieve social goals. There are various social requirements that are addressed by social enterprises as a human ingenuity. According to the research of 2009, the most 5 common mission of social enterprises are to develop workforce development, education, housing, health, economic and community development (www.se-alliance.org). The business models of social enterprise are likewise diverse, which includes service, retail, businesses, manufacturing, fee-based consulting, contracted providers of human and social services, financing operations, research services, catering operations, food service, community development, technology and even arts organizations. There are three key features that differentiate social enterprises from other kinds of businesses, government agencies and nonprofits:

These firms directly covers complex social need and manages in serving as a common good, either in the shape of services and products or by number of deprived people it hires.

There primary purpose will be producing common goods and trumping others organizations.

There commercial activities are strong income generators, whether an important drawn income stream in compound revenue portfolio of non profit or a profit organization.

The social enterprises must be having the given attributes, which makes them different from other organizations.

They hold a clear environmental or social mission in their governing documents

Make majority of revenue through trade

Recycle the greater part of their profits

Be self-governing of state

Strongly hold the control over the social mission

Must hold controlled assets

Be transparent and accountable

The community of social enterprise agrees with the point that fundamental of entire social enterprises should be environmental of social one.
