Marketing Communication

1. Please give an example where communications has not only helped brands to gain market share but fundamentally changed their product market categories

Considering the global trends and the bombardment of constant news updates and knowledge disbursement, marketing communications have transformed almost exponentially. These days, individuals, irrespective of their age group and their command on software usage are beginning to adopt these new and unique way to transfer information and expertise that not only make way for establishing a stronger perception, but have also made way for becoming viral in this situation altogether.

Entrepreneurs must know their position, their 'market category' while competing on the basis of their current position and their estimated market offering. With the help and induction of marketing communications, not only has it become evident that companies and organizations can produce brands and earn promotion, but also establish a need in a market with their unique market proposition (Clow & Baack, 2007).

An example of this would be the infamous Sony Walkman, which existed as a need in the market, but nobody ever attempted to design the need to cater the need to listening music while being on the go. Considering the launch of the first walkman by Song, it changed the course of how individuals hear and listen to music over a mere span of a decade and a half.

Not only this, as one person begins to understand and comprehend the challenges and the problems that have been seen and experienced, it becomes evident that with the help and assistance of marketing communications, it not only spread out in one nation at the launch, but immediately changed the focus of technology and that way it was being witnessed by people.
