Marie Antoinette was born in 1755 a princess and archduchess and was by most accounts the favorite female child of the Hapsburg Empress of Austria, Maria Teresa. The Hapsburg dwelling was at the time the oldest royal house in Europe and one of the most influential. Marie Antoinette grew up pampered and indulged in Austrian Schonbrünn Palace.
