Introduction

Business logistics solutions have come a long way since the utilization of the postal system for business purposes during the Industrial Revolution. Its importance in achieving company goals of efficiency and profitability for the current corporate industries as well as several others can be pointed out as an evidence of the evolution of business logistics in the past years. During the peacetime era shortly, right after the Second World War marked for the emergence of various forms of businesses and thereby increasing as well the need for faster and efficient logistics solutions that will satisfy the needs of these emerging industries. Scope of the Paper

The paper aims to suggest methods and ways regarding logistics management with respect to the case given. It evaluates the companies supply chain requirements, the hub and host points of the countries and based on the evaluations, it will suggest the logistics requirements and implementation strategies. The paper will suggest the supply chain and logistics management strategies to deliver their goods to collection centers based in Singapore as well as in Hong Kong and then ship the same in bulk in the in the containers to the distribution centre(s) in Australia. As the case suggests, the company will have a distribution centre based in Sydney from where the goods will be distributed to the end users throughout Australia.

Online Retailing refers to selling goods through the internet. It allows users to create a purchase order, select the method of payment and get the delivery at the respective address. Internet trade is caused by changes in customer preferences and is thus also driven further with the upcoming trends. This change in buying behavior is mainly influenced by social and technological developments. Only companies that can recognize these trends early and implementing strategies to have lasting success with their concept are able to survive. how successful will their own e-commerce business model be depends crucially on the close integration of market satisfaction from (marketing concept) and meeting the technological requirements (IT & Logistics) in order to realize the potential of an innovative concept optimally. An intelligent logistics management may vary depending mainly on the effective and efficient implementation of the logistics business activities (Tan 1999, 7-15).

Transport and logistics are important determinants in setting up a successful business strategy.
